This week covered a lot of ground.

Skill 0 times any leverage is still 0. AI cloned the market. Pre-selection beats the pitch every time.

But knowing all of that means nothing if you don't change anything.

So here's the only move that matters this weekend.

A comprehensive guide for addressing the tax talent crisis

A labor shortage in tax is driving the need for a new skill set: one that blends technical tax knowledge with digital fluency.

Automation, AI and data-driven insights now define the role of tax professionals.

This new era of tax is not simply about adopting new tools, it’s about reshaping the skill set and mindset required to thrive in this field. Check out this guide for actionable insights into how to cultivate these skills with your team. See how advanced technologies can help bridge the tax tech gap to increase efficiency, ensure compliance, and drive better decision-making.

Write Your Position Statement

Not a bio. Not a tagline. A position statement.

One sentence that forces a decision about who you serve, what problem you actually solve, and why your approach works when others haven't.

The formula:

I help [specific person] who [specific problem] by [mechanism] so they can [outcome].

Fill it in. Honestly. Don't write the version that sounds good — write the version that's true.

Then test it against the only question that matters: could someone else in your space say the exact same sentence?

If yes, it's not specific enough. Narrow until they can't.

Corporate track: Your position statement isn't your job title. It's how you'd answer if someone asked "what do you actually do that nobody else does?" At the next skip-level meeting, at the next performance review, that answer is your leverage.

Creator track: This sentence becomes your bio, your content filter, and your client filter. The wrong people stop engaging. The right people start converting. That trade is worth the discomfort of specificity.

Why Most People Don't Do This

Writing a position statement forces a decision.

Broad feels safe. You might still attract the $10k client, the Fortune 500 contract, the dream collaboration. Specific feels like closing doors.

But in a market where AI cloned every generalist overnight, broad is the actual risk. Specific is the filter. The filter is what makes the right person feel found.

The discomfort you feel writing this sentence is the discomfort of becoming something real instead of something possible.

Do it anyway.

This Weekend's Move

Write the sentence. Don't publish it yet.

Just write it, sit with it, and notice whether it makes you feel clear or whether it makes you feel like you're leaving something on the table.

If it's the second one, you're getting warmer.

Next week: READ pillar. How to see what others miss before they know they're missing it.

Reply to this email with your position statement. One sentence. I'll tell you if it's specific enough.
