So you read a guide about digital products. Makes sense. You try to build one. You spend few weeks on it. It does not sell. You conclude digital products do not work.
Digital products work. They just do not work as a starting point for everyone.
For someone with no audience and no existing trust with a market, a service offer almost always generates the first dollar faster. For someone with deep expertise in a specific process, a consulting offer closes faster than any product they could build. For someone who writes well and wants to build something that scales, a newsletter with a small paid tier can hit $200 per month before they have 500 subscribers.
None of this is secret. All of it is direction-dependent.
The people who made their first dollar online were not smarter than you. They were not more talented. Most of them were not even working harder.
They started in the right direction for their specific situation. Everything compounded from there.
The people who are still planning six months later are often the ones who started in the wrong direction, hit a wall, concluded they were doing something wrong, and went back to consuming content to figure out what.
More content was never the answer. A better starting direction was.
